Our Pastors

Nathan Ramirez, Senior Pastor

Nathan was born and raised in the Northwest Houston area where he studied history and pastoral ministry at the University of Houston and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Nathan met Amber at a UH football game while in high school and they were married in 2009. God has blessed them with four energetic kids: Brookelyn, Genesis, Boaz, and Jachin.

When Nathan was 15 years old the Lord began calling him to pastoral ministry, but that calling wasn’t realized until he started serving as the student pastor of Founders Baptist Church in Spring, Texas at age 23. Almost six years later the Lord led him and his family to become a part of FBC and the Raton community.

God has given Nathan a passion for seeing lives transformed through the Spirit-empowered preaching of the Word. His greatest desire is that every member of FBC Raton would have a growing knowledge of Christ and a growing influence for Christ in this town, the state of New Mexico and around the world.

Rob Mayes,  Assoc Pastor & Music Minister

Rob has been serving at FBC Raton since 2005. Since that time he has been serving primarily as the Associate Pastor with occasional periods as the Interim Pastor.

Rob is originally from Ardmore, OK although he grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida and moved to Kentucky as a young adult.  It was there that he came to the Lord and eventually met and married his wife, Pam.  In 1982, they moved to Angel Fire, NM where Rob worked in the construction industry until following God’s call into the ministry in 1994.

He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX in 1997 with a Graduate Diploma in Theology and was called back to Angel Fire to serve as the Associate Pastor of Education and Administration.

Rob and Pam have two adult daughters, Lindsay and Sara.  Lindsay and her husband live in Aztec, NM and she teaches in Farmington. Sara and her husband live in Colorado Springs, CO where she teaches in a charter school.

Rob’s ministry is focused on helping the church understand and live up to our full potential as followers of Jesus Christ. Our focus is on remembering the Living Hope we have through His resurrection and allowing that hope to infuse our daily lives. By His power, we will grow in love for one another and ministry to a hurting world.

Rob can be contacted at 575-447-3571 or by email at rob@fbcraton.org
